Excuses are the nails used to build a house of failure.~Don Wilder and Bill Rechin
Bad weather is heading our way. As I was riding my bicycle today I was getting bummed. I am on an exercise regimen (new, but I am on week three!). So I was getting upset during my ride...not watching for cars. Broken legs or worse would have put a damper on my routine. Later this evening I finally realized the stupidity of my funk.
Part of me was building an excuse for failure. I do that a lot. The optimist in me should have been relishing the possibility of new routines the weather would be offering. Skiing, shoveling, running stairs buried in snow. Work the core!
I am learning. I caught this "set up for failure" quickly. That's a good sign!
Your letter of excuses has arrived. I receive the letter but do not admit the excuses except in courtesy, as when a man treads on your toes and begs your pardon - the pardon is granted, but the joint aches, especially if there is a corn upon it. ~Lord Byron

Fortune has allowed me to come full circle and return to my earlier interest in photography. I am at that age were some weight loss would be beneficial. I certainly don't believe all photographers need to starve, but my initial goals are realistic, if not humble. The industry has changed tremendously, but the possibilities are unlimited. I am grateful that my parents' gave me a generic name. It's allowed me to explore numerous paths unhindered.

In brief, Technorati tracks millions of blogs and lets users search them, tag them, and rank them. If you own a blog, or if you read them, I recommend signing up with Technorati (it's free and takes a couple minutes). And if you enjoy this blog, I encourage you, please, to "favorite" it.
